Our Market Potential
Doug’s take on Market Potential
With a simple operation, we have developed an outstanding diverse menu to outclass our competition. Simply put, we create what people crave.
Generally, in a business environment, lunch is taken by small groups of business professionals or co-workers. It is more likely they will choose a place that is always good and offers the broadest menu to satisfy the most people.
If you only sell a sandwich, chips, and a drink, you limit the appeal to the whole group, especially if someone in that group is craving soup, salad or pizza.
Since Pickleman’s offers premium quality sandwiches, specialty pizzas, really good soups, and fresh chopped salads, the long term potential in terms of market share is greater than just another sandwich shop, and it costs the same or less. Everyone wins!

Franchising Experience
Prior to founding Pickleman’s, Doug Stritzel was the Director of Operations for 4 years and the Chief Operating Officer for 2 years with Jimmy John’s Franchising Inc.. During that time, Doug increased same store sales by an average 20% at corporate stores and helped develop the Jimmy John’s training, franchise programs and brand. In addition Doug spent nearly 4 years as an operating partner of both a Wendy’s and Tim Horton’s franchise.
Get A REAL Sandwich!
In October of 2005, Doug realized his long time dream of building a distinct new concept and opened the first Pickleman’s in Columbia, Missouri. He opened his second store in January of 2008. Only after Doug had successfully tested his model and unique operating system, did he form Pickleman’s Franchising, LLC to begin actively seeking franchise candidates.
Doug has been on both sides of franchising. He understands the complexities and diplomacy required in creating successful franchising relationships. Just as important, Pickleman’s entire team is committed to developing healthy, prosperous partnerships with the Pickleman’s Franchise Community.
