1.The first step in becoming a Pickleman's franchisee is to learn about Pickleman's and make sure it is the right fit for you. Review the franchising information.
2.Submit Confidential Request Form. This document will allow Pickleman's to learn about the applicant and evaluate their qualifications. Please send completed forms to contact@picklemans.com
3.Qualified applicants will schedule a visit to our Corporate Office in Columbia, Missouri. During the visit applicants will meet with Doug Stritzel, the owner of Pickleman's, learn more about Pickleman's, and experience Pickleman's first hand. During the visit you will also receive the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
4. The applicant must submit to a background check and credit check, which will be reviewed by Pickleman's upon completion.
5. After reviewing all documents, Pickleman's will notify the applicant whether their request has been approved or denied.
6. The applicant has a minimum of 14 full calendar days after signing the FDD acknowledgement before any franchise agreement may occur. We recommend you have an attorney review our FDD and that you contact some of our existing franchisees.
7. Together, Pickleman's and the applicant work to find suitable sites. Pickleman's must approve all sites prior to any retail or lease agreements are signed.
8. Pickleman's creates the initial layout and plan, which will guide the build out and construction of the new store.
9. Applicants return to Columbia, Missouri for orientation and training.
10. Final store inspection is done 3-5 days prior to the opening.
Because each franchise applicant is unique, this process is a guideline. Pickleman's will work to meet the needs of the applicant during this process.
Note: Timeline for Opening your Franchise: We estimate that the typical length of time between signing of the Franchise Agreement and the opening of a Pickleman's Gourmet Cafe is between 6 and 8 months. Factors affecting the length of time usually include obtaining a satisfactory site, zoning and governmental requirements, financing arrangements, building improvements, and purchase and installation of equipment, fixtures, and signs.
